The hub of the Wind Spirit's top deck is its rear pool and lounge area. The Wind Spirit has a single small pool located at the center of the pool deck area at the back of the ship. The center of the Wind Spirit's pool deck also is home to a single hot tub that is a popular gathering point after a day of excursions. Just behind the Wind Spirit's outdoor pool is the partially-enclosed Pool Bar.
A small covered sitting area is located next to the Wind Spirit's Pool Bar. Originally built in 1988, the Wind Spirit has undergone major renovations in the past few years that have included the addition of all-new lounge chairs on its top decks. More seating is located at the very back of the pool deck area overlooking the stern. The pool deck area of the Wind Spirit features recently replaced furniture.
Extra towels for passengers are located in teak stands next to the hot tub. Coffee, tea and a few breakfast items are available throughout the morning at the pool deck. The early risers breakfast on the pool deck includes fruit, yogurt and pastries. A "selfie spot" on the Wind Spirit's flying bridge allows for photos next to one of the wheels that can be used to steer the vessel.
A second lounge area is located at the bow of the Wind Spirit just in front of the bridge. The teak promenade on the top of the vessels connects its forward and rear outdoor lounge areas. A teak deck wraps around the top of the vessel. The masts of the Wind Spirit soar more than 200 feet into the air.
The Wind Spirit's tenders, which double as lifeboats, are visible to passengers strolling its top decks. The Wind Spirit also carries several motorized Zodiac boats on its bow for use during shore landings. A spiral staircase leads down from the pool deck to a back entrance to the ship's lounge. A small deck area is located at the rear of the vessel below the pool deck.
The Wind Spirit flies the flag of the Bahamas, where the ship is registered, off its stern. A water sports platform at the back of the Wind Spirit opens when the ship is at anchor. Wind Spirit passengers will find kayaks and a sailboat for use at the water sports platform. The hub of the Wind Spirit's interior is its stylish Lobby, located on Deck 3.
Cool towels in the Lobby await Wind Spirit passengers returning from shore excursions. The Wind Spirit has a single interior lounge that is a central gathering point during evenings. Located on Deck 3, the Lounge has undergone significant renovations in recent years and is a stylish and contemporary space. The Wind Spirit's Lounge is home to live piano music and singing nightly and features its own dance floor.
A bar in the corner of the Lounge serves passengers throughout the evening. Just off the Wind Spirit's Lounge is a small casino that has two tables for poker and blackjack. The Wind Spirit's small casino also has about a dozen slot machines. Just outside of the Lounge is a wooden statue from a sailing ship.
The Wind Spirit's main restaurant, AmphorA, is located toward the bow on Deck 3. Like other public areas in the Wind Spirit, the AmphorA restaurant underwent a major makeover in recent years. The Wind Spirit also has a second, casual buffet eatery called the Veranda on its top deck. Located on Deck 4 toward the bow of the vessel, the Wind Spirit's Veranda eatery is open for buffet breakfasts and lunches.
The Veranda also has outdoor seating. Home baked breads and pastries at the Veranda. A wall of display cases in the Lobby show off jewelry and other items that can be purchased in the ship's Signature Shop. A reception desk is located in the corner of the Lobby.
The Wind Spirit's main stairway leads from the Lobby down to two cabin decks. The Wind Spirit's small Signature Shop offers a range of merchandise including logo wear and toiletries. The Wind Spirit also has a small ship located on Deck 3 between the Lobby and the Lounge. The WindSpa has two treatment rooms, one of which includes a shower used with certain treatments.
The WindSpa uses upscale Elemis products. The WindSpa also has a hair salon with stations for hair styling and manicures. A pedicure station is located in a private corner of the WindSpa's hair salon. The Wind Spirit's sails unfurl as the vessel heads into open water.
The Wind Spirit has 74 cabins spread over two decks. With the exception of a single Owner's Suite, all of the Wind Spirit's cabins measure 188 square feet and feature a single queen bed that can be separated into two twins. Wind Spirit cabins also have a seating nook with two built-in seats and a table. The table can be lowered to configure the nook as a sofa.
Wind Spirit cabins don't have balconies or even picture windows. Instead, there are two portholes. A wall unit next to the bed in Wind Spirit cabins has a telephone, outlets and room for reading material. A small hallway area at the entrance to Wind Spirit cabins leads to the bathroom and closet area.
Wind Spirit cabins have built-in armoires with two sections. One side of the built-in armoires in Wind Spirit cabins has room for hanging clothes and a single shelf. The other side of the built-in armoires in Wind Spirit cabins has more room for hanging clothes and several open shelves for shoes. Wind Spirit cabin bathrooms are well-designed with granite-topped sinks and wrap-around mirrors.
Wind Spirit cabins feature upscale L'Occitane toiletries. Cabin bathrooms have toilets located in a circular area near the sink. Across from the toilets in Wind Spirit cabin bathrooms is a matching circular area that houses a shower. Wind Spirit cabins feature a large number of U.S.-Style electrical outlets including two located next to the bed.
A central console between the bed and seating area in Wind Spirit cabins is home to a miniature refrigerator stocked with sodas, beer and wine. The sodas are included in the fare; beer and wine come with an extra charge. Just above the miniature refrigerator in Wind Spirit cabins is a drawer holding small bottles of whiskey, gin, vodka and other alcoholic drinks available for an extra charge. The center console in Wind Spirit cabins also has an open compartment with an ice bucket, glasses and water bottles that are refilled daily.
The center console also features a Bose speaker for use with personal iPhones and other devices. Each Wind Spirit cabin comes with a hair dryer located in the top drawer of the dresser. More storage space is located underneath the seats in the seating area. The console between the bed and sleeping area in Wind Spirit cabins also has a storage compartment.
More storage is available in compartments with pull-down doors located above the seating area. One of the storage areas above the seating area houses life jackets. Long hallways on decks 1 and 2 of the Wind Spirit lead to the ship's 74 cabins. A board at the top of the Wind Spirit's boarding stairs announces the port where the ship is located and all-aboard time.
The Wind Spirit also has a small library located on Deck 3 near the Lounge. The Wind Spirit library has a card table and shelves full of books that passengers can borrow during voyages. The Wind Spirit library also has board games and puzzles that passengers can use during voyages. Along one wall of the Wind Spirit's library are several hundred movies on DVD that passengers can borrow at no charge to watch in their rooms.
Every room has a television with a DVD player. The Wind Spirit has a small fitness room located on Deck 2. The Wind Spirit's fitness room contains two running machines and several other cardio machines. Free weights also are available in the Wind Spirit's fitness room.
Located on Deck 2, the Wind Spirit's medical center is staffed by a ship's doctor. The Wind Spirit has an open-bridge policy, which is relatively rare among cruise ships. The Wind Spirit was built in Le Havre, France in 1988. Life buoy's are located around the top decks of the ship.
